That “type” of question
In “What typeface would you recommend?”, you mention asking yourself, “What typefaces were in use in 1836?” What reference sources do you use to find the answer to that type (ha ha) of question about typefaces? Thanks! — Lorraine Ryba
We started out with a pretty good idea of what 1800s-era fonts look like. Then we used Google and a little sleuthing. In this case, you can start here: http://new.myfonts.com/tags/1800s/. When you find a likely typeface, read further, because most 1800s fonts came after 1836.
